If you have thought about cleaning your carpets on your own, there are a few steps that you will need to take care of before you begin the actual cleaning. In the area that you are planning on carpet cleaning, you will need to move the furniture off of the carpet. By doing this, you will be able to clean the entire floor. You will definitely want to do this step because if you are going to put in the effort to clean your carpets, you may as well do the entire carpet as opposed to the areas around the furniture. You will also need to give your carpet a good vacuuming. This will get rid of most of the dust, dirt, and allergens that are trapped in the fibers that the carpet cleaning machine may have trouble getting up. Finally, you should use a pre-spray on your whole carpet.
